Kite Surf Pro world tour launching at Indian Resort in Mauritius

ABOUT: Bringing together the world’s top male and female kite surfers from around the globe for an electrifying battle for the prestigious World Championship Title, the KITE SURF PRO (KSP) world tour is a 3 event series kicking off it’s inaugural season in 2011.

The KSP will be reflecting the dynamic lifestyle that combines the relaxed and fun atmosphere of a beach sport with the highly professional attitude of worldclass athletes; creating a fascinating allure while being a completely ecofriendly sport that is purely powered by wind and waves.

COMPETITORS: The highly exclusive field of competitors is comprised of the world’s top 24 male and 12 female riders. Riders from Argentina, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hawaii, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, USA and more will join the fight for the world championship title.

VENUES: Only prime wave locations that offer consistent winds and prime kite surf conditions are considered to become KSP tour stops. The 2011 tour venues have been chosen to be One Eye in Mauritius, Pacasmayo/Peru and Ponta Preta / Cabo Verde Islands.

The first event will take place at the Indian Resort & Spa in Le Morne, Mauritius between September 23 and 29, 2011. Scattered amidst lush tropical gardens on 7 hectare and bordered by pristine beaches, the Indian Resort and Spa is situated right in front of the world renown kite and surf spot One Eye. It is within this exceptional site that the KITE SURF PRO world championship tour kickoff event will be held.

HISTORY: Taking a vision and making it a reality is how the KSP came to be. World Champion kite surfers Kristin Boese (GER), Sky Solbach (USA), Mitu Monteiro (CPV) and Guilly Brandao (BRA) had the aspirations to take the sport of kite surfing to new levels and set out to launch the ultimate “Dream Tour” for their sport.
