MAKADI BAY OVERVIEW
Situated south of Hurghada lays Makadi Bay in a quiet, peaceful location, ideal for a relaxing holiday. There are long sandy beaches, and a spectacular house reef just off the shore, perfect for snorkelling. The exclusive golf course, the longest in the region, is one of Makadi Bay's highlights, offering stunning views.
KITESURF CONDITIONS
The wind in the Red Sea is created by the difference in temperature between the land and sea. In Makadi Bay this is accelerated by the mountain range and more by Giftun Island offshore. It will pick up during the day and often starts early then blows all day. In the summer months, from May to Oct, the average wind is around 19 knots with the afternoons often getting up to 25 / 30 (especially in September)! In the winter it is mostly big kite weather (14 - 16's).
THE OCEAN IS YOUR PLAYGROUND
There are no set areas for kitesurfing and windsurfing in Makadi Bay. The ocean is yours to enjoy, without worrying about drifting out of designated areas.
The whole bay is flat water, ideal for beginners and intermediates. The area is ideal for speed freaks alike, especially as Makadi Bay is one of the less crowded places in Egypt.
