14NT TOUR OF MOROCCO

Morocco is an incredible country, it has so much culture, and is home to one of our windiest resorts, Essaouira. This tour will take you to some of the most fascinating towns and cities that this country has to offer. All accommodation is very basic, including one night tented in the desert, with camel transfers. As you fly into Casablanca, and fly out of Marrakech you will not be back tracking at all.

Day 1 : Casablanca

Fly from the UK into Casablanca airport. Upon arrival you will be met by our ground agents who willgive you a tour overview, and transfer you to your accommodation.

Day 2 : Mekenes

You will be given a tour of Mekenes starting in front of the impressive 18th century Bab Mansour, the ornamental gate to the imperial city of Meknes built by Sultan Moulay Ismail in honour of himself. The gate faces Place el-Hadim, where, after dark fills with many Moroccan families coming to be entertained by story-tellers, snake-charmers, horse rides & medicine men.

Day 3 - 4 : Volubilis/Fez

Guided visit to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, guided tour of Fez medina. Your tour will start by making your way through the rolling hills for a guided visit of the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, the best preserved Roman ruins in this part of northern Africa.

Day 4 is free for you to explore Fez and its medina at your leisure. Your guide will provide you with options for your day, including transport options to get you from the hotel into Old Fez.
(Please note, only certified local guides are allowed to guide in the medina, so for the free day your guide cannot accompany you here, but will be able to help you find a local guide if you wish. or of course you can just wander at your leisure!)

Days 5-6: Merzouga

Camel ride, dinner and overnight at desert camp.Day 5 will be a full day of driving, though the journey will take you through the unique Moroccon Landscapes. Pass through the cedar and pine forests, over the Middle Atlas Mountains and finally into the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.

This part of the tour will take you on an hours camel ride through the desert, and the accommodation will be in Bedouin Tents. This part of the tour is back to nature in terms of accommodation, but it's a great experience.

Day 7: Todra Gorge

You will rise early for a morning departure by camel from the camp and return to your auberge where you will have breakfast. Then continue by bus to Tinehrir and into the Todra Valley and enjoy a walk in the lush palm groves. Learn more about local life in this region. You may be lucky to taste some of the fruit in season straight from the source. Heading to the stunning Todra Gorge, you will spend the night in this beautiful and peaceful area.

Day 8: Aït Benhaddou

Guided visit to the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, with optional tagine cooking class. Aït Benhaddou is a wonderful example of a collection of kasbahs, a type of fortress. Carefully restored over the years and now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is now considered to be one of the best preserved kasbah villages in Morocco.

Day 9: Atlas Mountains

With your main luggage transported by mule, you will begin the walk from Imlil to the little village of Aremd, and the simple mountain gite.A delicious home made dinner will be cooked for you tonight.

Days 10-11: Essaouira

An option for an orientation walk in Essaouira, or, 2 days of kiting and windsurfing in the super windy destination.

Days 12-13: Marrakech

You will have the option for guided walks through this fascinating and vibrant city, where everywhere you turn will be something of interest, from snake charmers to story tellers.

Day 14: UK

On the last day of your tour you will be transferred to Marrakech airport, from where you will fly back to the UK.
