9 Day Inland Morocco + 7nts Essaouira
Tour Overview
This guided Moroccan tour begins in Casablanca, and takes you through Morocco, ending up in Marrakech. From Marrakech we will arrange private transfers to the super windy Essaouira to spend a week by the coast windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Upon arrival in Casablanca you will be greeted by our ground agents. You will be talked through what's planned for the next 9 days, and taken to your accommodation for an overnight in Casablanca. The first day is generally free for you to explore.
Day 2: Guided tour in Meknes, Volubilis and Fez
Today includes a guided tour of Meknes followed by a guided visit of the Roman ruins of Volubilis.
You will stay in the the new city of Fez, built by the French during their Protectorate of Morocco.
Day 3: Visiting Fez
You will be guided through Fez, and shown all the highlights of the Medina. You will explore the medina’s many artisans’ quarters, such as the brass & copper souqs, the wedding souq & the carpenters plus its bakers, butchers & spice sellers.
Overnight again in Fez
Day 4: to Merzouga
Today brings an early start as you continue your journey, now heading over the Middle Atlas mountains with its cedar forests and through the ski area of Ifrane into the desert regions, through the vast palm groves of the Ziz Valley and right up to the majestic Saharan sand dunes.
Spend the night in a comfortable
kasbah style desert hotel at the edge of the dunes. There is an option in the evening to make a short camel ride into the nearby dunes to watch the setting sun.
Day 5: Sahara desert in Todra Gorge
The day starts with a morning sunrise excursion in 4 x 4s to explore dunes of the Sahara desert. Your guide can teach you how to wrap a turban.

Day 6: Visit to Dades Gorge and Ouarzazate
The day is started with a visit to the Dades Gorge with its unusual natural rock formations and stunning scenery. Continue along the "Route of a 1000 Kasbahs" with an included visit to Kasbah Taourit. After lunch continue to to Ouarzazate, a former Foreign Legion stronghold. In Ouazarzate you will have the option to visit a Berber herbalist and find out about the traditional medicines and cooking spices of the Berber people.
Overnight in Ouarzazate
Day 7: Going to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah and Marrakech
Continue on to the village of Aït Benhaddou, a wonderful example of a kasbah, a type of fortress or palace. During our visit to the Kasbah, lose yourself in the narrow, winding passageways and feel the magical atmosphere of this incredible structure.
Continue on to Marrakech through the
Tizi n’Tichka pass at
2200m in the High Atlas mountains, on winding mountain roads with breathtaking views over the highest peaks of Morocco.
Overnight in Marrakech
Day 8: Free day in Marrakech
Free day to explore the souks of Marrakech, followed by one more night in the fascinating city.
Day 9: From Marrakech to Essaouira
Today you will split from the tour, after saying good bye to your guide you will be greeted by a private driver who will take you to Essaouira, for a week of windsurfing and kitesurfing.

Day 16: Back to UK
On your last day in Morocco, a driver will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to Marrakech airport where a flight will be waiting to take you back to the UK.
