Cape Town Blue Train and Self Drive Safari

This tour gives you a sneak peek at the delights available around Cape Town before you set off on-board the elegant Blue Train.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery of Mpumalanga, including the Blyde River Canyon and God's Window, as well as tracking the 'Big 5' in the comfort of your own vehicle in South Africa's largest game reserve - the Kruger National Park. Visit the cultural 'Kingdom of the Mountains' - Swaziland - en route to KwaZulu Natal. Your time in Mkuze will allow you opportunities to visit a traditional local Zulu village as well as a visit to the Hluhluwe-Infolozi Game Reserve, famous for saving the White Rhino from extinction. 
On your way to Durban, visit St Lucia, located at the southern extremity of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park - a World Heritage Site. Here you can embark on an estuarine boat trip which provides an opportunity to view crocodiles, hippo and numerous bird species, including the elusive African Kingfisher Eagle, in their natural habitat.

Days 1-3 - Cape Town

Upon arrival into Cape Town Airport, make your way to the Hertz depot to collect your car. From here the world is your oyster to explore this glorious City.
Why not spend the day exploring the sights and sounds of Cape Town. Take a cable car trip up Table Mountain, explore the pearly white beaches or experience the rich cultural museums and historic city centre
By vehicle, perhaps explore the beautiful Cape Town surroundings by taking a trip to Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. Get up close with the penguins at Boulders beach or explore the quaint, fishing towns like Kalk Bay, False Bay or Simons Town.

Day 4 - Cape Town to Pretoria

Accommodation: 5* The Blue Train Full Board

Today, drop off your vehicle at the Hertz Downtown Depot, where you will be collected and dropped off at the Blue Train lounge to embark on a journey aboard the magnificent moving five-star hotel which is the Blue Train.As the ever-changing scenery flashes past the windows you will travel from Cape Town to Pretoria on a fine dining experience.

Day 5 - Pretoria

Accommodation: 4* Court Classique Suite Hotel Bed & Breakfast

After breakfast you will arrive into Pretoria in time for lunch. You will be transfered from Pretoria station to Court Classique for your overnight stay. The following day, be transferred to Johannesburg Airport for your onward journey.

Days 6-7 - Mpumlanga Region

Accommodation: 5* Perry's Bridge Hollow Bed & Breakfast

Upon collecting your vehicle. Travel on to Hazyview for your adventurous safari, explore the scenic valleys and woodland forests of the Sandford Conservancy on horseback Visit adjacent attractions such as the famous Kruger National Park or even take a trip in a hot air balloon.

Day 8 - Swaziland

Accommodation: 4* The Royal Swazi Spa Bed & Breakfast

Travel onto the breathtakingly beautiful Ezulwini Valley where you can enjoy a challenging 18 hole championship golf course. Other activities are available such as hiking trails, bowling greens and squash courts to name by a few.

Days 9-10 - Kwazulu Natal - Mkuze

Accommodation: 4* Ghost Mountain Inn Bed & Breakfast

After breakfast, drive onto Kwazulu Natal for some game drives in Hluhluwe, possible boat cruises (weather and numbers permitting), tiger fishing and cultural excursions. Game Rangers are available for the other following excursions, birding, hiking, walking or unwind by spending time at the Ghost Mountain Spa.

Day 12 - Back to UK

Spend your final morning relaxing at Ghost Mountain before transferring to King Shaka International Airport (Durban Airport) to drop off your car hire and catch your connect flight.
