The weather was suitably English with rain and grey skies\u00a0throughout the day but this didn’t stop the proceedings and the record was broken! The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of kitesurfers. A total of 423 wind riders set sail in the\u00a0cold waters of Hayling Island and finished\u00a0a one-mile course\u00a0required to break the record.<\/p>\n
Light winds of\u00a015 and 18 knots made it even more challenging and it\u00a0took three-and-a-half hours to complete.<\/p>\n
“A huge thank you to everyone who has come down and supported the festival this weekend. It’s been an amazing experience. 423 kitesurfers is a fantastic total, and everyone should be really proud. It’s been an awesome weekend,” noted Dan Charlish, director of the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada.<\/p>\n
