Fuerteventura<\/a> is the second largest island in the Canary Islands, however it remains as one of the least developed. The island has some incredible topography and even better kitesurfing conditions. This makes it a kitesurfer’s paradise.<\/p>\n

In the north of the island at Corralejo is the stunning kitesurfing beach called Flag Beach. The surrounding area and most of the beach is part of a beautiful nature reserve. The windiest time is in the summer when the big high pressure stays over the Atlantic and there is a low over the Sahara. These combine to give a reliable cross-shore wind at Flag Beach. Here you will find some small waves along the beach and some great flat water sections that are perfect for learning to kitesurf. Sotavento<\/a> is located at the very south of Fuerteventura and provides flat to choppy conditions and is the windiest spot on the island.<\/strong> This destination is ideal as either a dedicated kitesurf holiday or a family holiday. To the south, there is perfect beginner spot, while the area to the north is better for experienced kitesurfers. There is a lot of space on the beach, especially at low tide, so you shouldn\u2019t be bothered by crowds, even in peak season. The best wind in Sotavento is between April and October, however it is possible to get some great conditions in winter. During the windiest days in Sotavento, the wind speeds can reach up to 40+ knots.<\/p>\n
