Pointe d\u2019Esny, Mauritius<\/h5>\n

Located on the south-east coast of Mauritius<\/a> and blessed with a stunning white sandy stretch of beach, Pointe Desny<\/a> is a peaceful area with untouched beauty. Here you will find the largest lagoon on the island, fringed by tropical vegetation and close to the picturesque village of Mahebourg. The light to moderate winds make it an ideal spot for getting into kitefoiling, and with few crowds, this adds to the appeal. Peak season is between June and September, but the wind blows all year round. The newly renovated Preskil Island Resort<\/a> is a fantastically affordable choice in Pointe d’Esny with amazing facilities for families.<\/p>\n

West Portugal<\/h5>\n

Cabedelo Beach lies at the mouth of the Lima River, in the Viana do Castelo region of West Portugal<\/a>. The port\u2019s breakwaters offer protection, creating a large baby of deep flat water that is foiling heaven, although there are some good waves spots further down the coast if you want to get some wave kiting in too. The wind is one of the most consistent in Portugal \u2013 no mean feat given its exposure to the Atlantic. Peak season is between May and September. Warm conditions and a short flight from the UK all add to its appeal for kitefoilers. Soma Bay<\/h5>\n

Just 45 minutes from Hurghada International Airport, Soma Bay<\/a> is surrounded by sea and lined with sandy beaches. Despite having some of the best kiting conditions in Egypt<\/a>, with reliable winds and a huge lagoon, it\u2019s still relatively undiscovered. The Abu Soma side of the lagoon offers side-onshore winds and shallow waters that are great for those learning how to kitefoil. Cape Verde<\/h5>\n

It\u2019s just a short-haul flight from the UK and offers reliable wind conditions and warm temperatures. Two of the main islands are Sal<\/a> and Boa Vista<\/a>, with plenty of local charm and resort accommodation. There\u2019s also plenty on offer for non-kiters, making it a great family choice.<\/p>\n

Thankfully avoiding the worst excesses of Greek island tourism, Lemnos offers superb kitefoiling conditions throughout the summer months. Reliable winds and warm temperatures combine with flat water. Keros bay is the best-known kiting spot, with shallow waters and a sandy bottom. There is also fantastic villa-style accommodation available nearby at the Keros Blue<\/a> Hotel.<\/p>\n

Dakhla<\/h5>\n

With 70 to 80% wind reliability throughout the year and a huge flat-water lagoon, Dakhla<\/a> is a real kiting paradise. Even in low season the wind still blows, and the unique landscape of Western Sahara all adds to the mystery.
