Add to this some stunning beaches and a huge list of other attractions, including the mighty Amazon River and rainforest, and it ticks a lot of boxes.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a number of top kitesurfing holiday<\/a> spots along the country\u2019s coastline, mostly up in the Northern Ceara region. So here\u2019s a closer look at some of the country\u2019s best kiting resorts.<\/p>\n

Cumbuco<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Once a small fishing village, Cumbuco has transformed into one of the premier kiting resorts in Brazil. Its proximity to the airport at Fortaleza has definitely helped, but it\u2019s the fact it\u2019s one of the windiest places on earth that really appeals. There\u2019s plenty of accommodation options and nightlife to meet your needs, and the locals have a reputation as some of the friendliest in the country. The beach is spacious enough so you\u2019re not in each other\u2019s pockets and there\u2019s a range of conditions for all levels.<\/p>\n

Gostoso<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Located in the Rio Grande do Norte just an hour from Natals\u2019 airport, this accessible resort is calm and tranquil, with reliable wind conditions. It\u2019s an authentic Brazilian experience, where you\u2019ll be mixing with locals, who are friendly and warm (as they are in most of Brazil\u2019s coastal regions). There\u2019s a lot of new facilities opening here all the time to meet the needs of kitesurfers, and with conditions very good for between six to nine months a year, there\u2019s a big window of opportunity.<\/p>\n

Still a small fishing village with just a few amenities, this place is all about the kitesurfing. It\u2019s perhaps a little quieter than the above destinations, which means fewer people on the water but also less to do in the evenings, so it depends what kind of break you\u2019re looking for. Alternatively, combine a few days here with some time in one of the more lively resorts.<\/p>\n

Prea<\/a> and Jericoacoara<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Perhaps the best known kitesurfing spot in Brazil, and also one of the trendiest. Jeri is full of bars and shopping attractions, but it\u2019s the kiting that\u2019s the big draw. Conditions are best between August and December but the water can get busy in peak season. For a more tranquil experience, head to Prea, a small fishing village with just a few bars on the beach. The two locations are only around 20 minutes apart, so you can enjoy both on the same trip. Stay in Prea and head into Jerri for the night, or party hard in Jerri and spend your days on the beach in Prea.<\/p>\n

With these and other top Brazilian kiting destinations, including Paracuru, Itarema and Lagoinha, Brazil has earned its place as one of the world\u2019s best.
