Kopano Lodge Overview

Madikwe Safari Lodge is located in the central-eastern region of Madikwe Game Reserve, in South Africa’s North West Province bordering Botswana. The area surrounding Madikwe Safari Lodge is well known for its rich biodiversity, and provides some of the best game-viewing opportunities on the reserve. This, coupled with its low concentration of safari vehicles, makes for a superior wildlife experience.

Kopano (meaning ‘small gathering’) is one of three lodges located on the property. Kopano can be booked out on an exclusive basis and is well-suited to a get-together of friends or an older family. The modern lodge, influenced by an African design aesthetic, comprises just four luxury suites and reminds of a traditional homestead. Suites feature a fireplace, private plunge pool and viewing deck, while sharing a main lodge area.

Safaris At Madikwe

Head out on safari each morning and afternoon. Start and finish every day out in the wild in search of animals big and small. Whether leopard or chameleon, rhino or dung beetle, no two drives are the same! Game drives head out early morning at sunrise, and late afternoon just before sunset in search of the many animal species which call this place home. No more than 8 people at a time share in a private and intensely personal safari experience in the company of their Madikwe Guide. Madikwe, with its rugged terrain, bold colours and habituated wild animal species make for a photographer’s dream. Wild dogs are a signature species of the Madikwe Game Reserve.
