Product : Hotel was fine but not really 5 star service. Location and kitesurfing were excellent. Main restaurant was a bit disappointing and was more of a canteen. Nothing wrong with the food though and staff were all pleasant.

As a complete beginner, Planet Kitesurf gave me some good advice on what course options would suit me best and what the area I had chosen had to offer, both as a resort and as a place to learn kitesurfing and thus gave me the confidence to go ahead and book through them. The team at Planet Kitesurf also kept me fully informed by email of my booking details and what I needed to do at all stages of my holiday. El Gouna in Egypt is perfect for all levels of kitesurfing, especially for beginners. You are guaranteed good wind most days, warm sunshine and shallow, sandy bottomed seas, so less likely to harm yourself or others around you. I chose my own hotel (Hotel Fanadir) and I would almost certainly go back there. Great location for both El Gouna and travelling to the kitesurfing schools at Mangroovy Beach - a leisurely 15 minute walk. It was also a nice sized hotel with good rooms and food. The staff at the kite centre were great and the site had a nicely relaxed, friendly atmosphere. There was no shortage of equipment. The only slight downside was that some of the equipment looked a bit old and tatty. The instructors were very knowledgeable and encouraging no matter how rubbish I was. It was a fantastic holiday which went very smoothly from beginning to end. The only thing I would say as a negative is that I personally don't think 7hrs is long enough for most people to get to the end of level 2 from complete beginner and be competent to just go and hire equipment, even when you have one on one instruction. Apart from that I would like to thank Planet Kitesurf for all their advice and help and would recommend anyone to use them.

The service at Movenpick was very good and we enjoyed better wind than we expected. The service from Planet Kitesurf, from deciding where to actually go to getting boarding passes, was excellent!

We received helpful advice when booking or kitesurf holiday and the actual resort and kitesurf centre at Movenpick El Gouna was fantastic. Movenpick is a high-quality resort, with good food and a friendly atmosphere. The kite centre staff were all very friendly and helpful and even washed down and packed our kites at the end of the stay.

El Gouna is fantastic - it is an attractive and charming resort, much unlike what I had expected from the Red Sea resorts. The Movenpick is good value, comfortable and very convenient for kitesurfing, with the school right in front of the hotel and priority given to Movenpick residents. Even on no-wind days, there is much to do including standup paddling, snorkelling and diving. The staff at the kitesurfing school were very helpful.

The Movenpick Hotel was partially shut down the week we were there, due to low season. It would have been nice to know before hand about the partial shut down of the place. The area is the ideal learning spot and is also a great location for intermediate riders. The staff at the kitesurf centre were so nice and friendly and the centre had great equipment. The staff were happy to change your equipment at a drop of a 'kite' and the instructors were brilliant.

The Planet Kitesurf team knew the resorts and conditions for kitesurfing first hand, and gave me the information I needed. The room at the Movenpick was lovely and we enjoyed great food on the all inclusive option. The lagoon at Movenpick is fantastic for kitesurfing.

Excellent customer service was given from Matt Mortlock at Planet Kitesurf. The hotel and kite centre suited us perfectly. The kite people were fun and professional. There should be kite catchers at every kite site! I would rate our holiday as fantastic.

The hotel room at Movenpick was very good although it was one of the furthest rooms away from the kite area which was quite a distance given the size of the complex.

Everything worked and El Gouna is a super spot with great kiting and scuba diving.

The staff at Planet Kitesurf were very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was absolutely spot on, perfect! The location was matched to my husbands kitesurfing ability perfectly. The staff at the kite centre could not be more helpful and the instructor was excellent, great progress was made. We have been so impressed with the service, knowledge and understanding of the booking staff at Planet Kitesurf who ideally matched our requirements of a beginner kitesurfer and non-surfer. We would thoroughly recommend Planet to our friends and family and will definitely be booking our next holiday through you.

The team at Planet Kitesurf were patient and helpful in thinking through the options for our holiday. They had a good balance of impartial fact sharing and advice based on understanding the desires of the customer. They seem to be pretty transparent in sharing any motivations for recommending any given aspect, such as hotel choice, due to preferential partnerships between Planet and the hotels. Movenpick Hotel offered good quality rooms and facilities and the service and food were very good. Extreme tides (which happen irregularly) could ruin the Movenpick spot for those not wanting or being able to venture into deep water (not that easy a thing to do having to negotiate the reef safely). I would highly recommend Planet Kitesurf. For me the honesty, transparency and accuracy of detail in their advice across all aspects is the make or break element with regard to feeling like we've had a genuinely good transaction; and I believe they've done very well on this front.

The Movenpick at El Gouna was great, although some of their service was lacking. I thought WiFi was included but it wasn't, which is surprising for a big resort. Also, they tried overcharging me at the minibar even though I didn't take anything from it but that got sorted. Check out was a bit slow but overall it's a lovely hotel, great location, lots to do. Could have done with a bit more wind but I got a few days kiting so I'm happy!

As we have been to the Movenpick Hotel before the accommodation was as expected. However, when we arrived at the hotel they tried to put us in rooms that were about as far as way as they could be from the kite centre, even through we did request rooms as close as possible to the kite centre on booking. We did manage to get this changed, but it did mean we had to change rooms which was not ideal, especially as we had toddlers with us.
