KITESURFING HOLIDAYS WORLDWIDE

Knowledgeable, responsive, helpful and great value. All around top class. I priced up the same kitesurfing trip to Soma Bay in Egypt and couldn't get it cheaper myself. Thanks Planet Kitesurfing :)

I received great advice from the team at Planet Kitesurf. I was convinced to change from the Movenpick at El Gouna to the Breakers at Soma Bay and it was a great choice - very happy with it. The Breakers is a great hotel with friendly staff and amazing facilities.

The team members I spoke to at Planet Kitesurf listened to what we wanted and their recommendations fitted our requirements. I wasn't keen on going to Egypt but my husband found the Breakers and the info I could find on the web gave it very good reviews. But it was a better quality hotel than I was expecting. The location and facilities were exactly what we wanted. It was very quiet there due to the political problems in Egypt so we had plenty of space in the hotel and at the kitehouse all the staff worked hard to make our stay the best it could be. Only a couple of minor irritations over the entire 11 days. The hotel and beach was clean and well looked after. The rooms were comfortable and a good size and everything worked. The food was very good and there was a good range of drinks available and all very reasonably priced. The pool was very clean and long enough to swim lengths. We had a fantastic holiday and would go back to Breakers.

The original conversation I had with Marcus at Planet Kitesurf was very helpful in selecting the area for the time of year plus his recommendation for the hotel was spot on. However I was passed onto somebody else who convinced me to go with a different hotel, but after arriving I realised I should have stuck to the original plan. The Palm Royal was in a much better kiting spot with access to the lagoon without taking a boat. Due to boat and coast guard issues we weren't able to get to the lagoon on a couple of days, this didn't affect people staying at the Palm Royal. The centre at Caribbean World was very much a windsurfing centre with the equipment much more focused in that area. There were less kites and they were more well used. Also the Palm Royal was a significantly nicer hotel. The Caribbean was fine, the rooms were very nice but the food and drink was terrible which led to me picking up a stomach bug and missing kiting. Secondly, the flights times were changed and we were not informed. All passengers with other operators were informed prior to departure but we were not. The staff and manager at the centre very helpful but we only had 12m kites so had to rent but they only had 2 x 8m and often more people wanting them. The lines had seen better days with the bar down to the metal with several. However, their windsurf equipment was in much better condition. I liked the service provided by Planet Kitesurf and will use them again. Next time I will be much more specific with my questions, now knowing more about what I believe I'd like from a kiting holiday.

Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay is a superb hotel and worked brilliantly for both the adults and children alike. The Laguna Club upgrade is certainly worth it and many of the other guests there were back for their 3rd/4th/5th visit. I cannot praise the staff enough for their genuine help and good company during our stay. The kitesurfing centre in centre in Soma Bay is excellent. Professional but relaxed with good instruction. Kiting is great on flat water for those wanting to progress but an off-shore wind means beginners spend a lot of time in the rescue boat re-filling their kites. The only shame was we had 5 days of no kiting days in the 9 we were there due to freak low winds at this time of year. Intermediate/advanced visitors who rent equipment should book before to ensure best gear and size of kite to suit them.

The holiday went off well and I couldn't recommend it enough to anyone wanting to learn to kitesurf. Breakers Surf Lodge is a good hotel compared to many other Egyptian hotels. The food could be better but its generally fairly good. We had an excellent Kitesurf instructor - I wouldn't have wanted any other teacher. I am happy with the service from Planet Kitesurf but I must be honest and say that I didn't have much contact with them. I went because my instructor arranged the holiday with them.

Soma Bay has great shallow water for beginners. There is nothing amazing about the Plam Royale, it feels a bit dated, but the service is good, and there is a great gym. The food and the beach were okay, the spa is of a poor standard. The kite centre is a five minute walk from the hotel which is perfect.

Planet Kitesurf provided the ideal location for both our hotel and our level of kitesurfing. The Palm Royale was one of the best hotels I have stayed in - excellent food, great staff and close to the kite hut. Soma Bay is ideal for both beginner and advanced kitesurfers. The staff at the kite centre were very friendly. It was a pleasure using Planet Kitesurf, they are always friendly and very helpful.

Everything went very well with our kitesurfing holiday. Well organised as usual. Breakers Surf Lodge is a nice small resort - quiet with good service.
