  • Day 1


    Hotel: 4* Maniumpathy, Sri Lanka Bed & Breakfast

    Upon arrival at the airport you will enjoy the VIP arrival service at the Colombo International Airport. You will be privately escorted off the aeroplane to the silk route lounge where you can relax, enjoy the refreshments while your luggage will be cleared through customs on your behalf. Free wifi will be available and you will meet your chauffeur / national guide at the lounge. VIP exit to your vehicle through a separate door.  

    Explore the hidden gems in the city which are breathtaking to experience. Visit a place which contains over 200 paintings and drawings which trace the development of art in the island from the 1920s. These belong to the original founders of the 43 Group who laid the foundation of modern art. 

    Visit the Gangaramaya Temple where your whole family will be blessed by a Buddhist monk with a sacred thread which will be wrapped around your wrists. Witness the hair relics of Lord Buddha enshrined at the temple along with the smallest Buddha statue in the world. The entire temple is a living museum from collections from all around the world. 

  • Day 2

    Millennium Elephant Foundation

    Hotel: 5* Cinnamon Lodge Habarana, Habarana Bed & Breakfast

    After breakfast check out and visit Millennium Elephant Foundation. Walk with an elephant - an amazing experience one could have where your whole family will be walking next to an elephant while one of the volunteer managers and the mahout escorts you and explains about how the elephants live in Sri Lanka and what the foundation is doing to help them. This is once in a lifetime opportunity where you will be able to go down to the river to bathe the elephant while it lies down on the water and afterwards the elephant will sit on the riverbed and the children will get on top of the elephants back, where it will spray water on them with its trunk.

    Lunch will be at the foundation.

  • Day 3


    Hotel: 4* Jungle Beach, Sri Lanka Bed & Breakfast

    The Kingdom of Anuradhapura was the capital of Sri Lanka for more than 1000 years in ancient times. This was one of the greatest human civilisations in Asia. The sacred city was named as a UNESCO World Heritage site as well. A branch from the sacred fig tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment was planted in Anuradhapura in 3rd Century BC and this tree is still alive making it the oldest tree on the face of the Earth with a known planting date. On this cycling tout visit the three temples of Mirisaveti, Jetavana and Ruvanweli which align perfectly with the star constellation Orion’s Belt. The only other places that this happen in the world are with the Great Pyramids of Egypt, Mayan’s Pyramids and in Angkor Wat. 

    Lunch at Forest Rock Garden Hotel before driving to Trincomalee and visiting Koneshwaram kovil.

    Koneshwaram kovil is one of the four Ishwaram Kovils dedicated to Lord Shiva. It’s said that these 4 kovils are situated on corners of the island to protect the country from foreign invaders. Around the Koneshwaram kovil is the Fort Fredrick which was built as a penance by the Portuguese from the ruin stones of the old Koneshwaram kovil which they destroyed in 1622. Still to this date, the pillars of the old kovil lie on the bottom of the ocean close to the temple. This kovil is believed to be the oldest continuously worshiping temple in the world. There are spotted deer who walk freely next to the humans around the kovil.

  • Day 4


    Hotel: 4* Uga Bay, Sri Lanka Bed & Breakfast

    After breakfast drive to Pasikuda and enjoy lunch in Pasikudah.

  • Day 5


    Hotel: 4* Taylors Hill, Sri Lanka Bed & Breakfast

    Visit the Temple of the Tooth. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country.

    Late in the evening enjoy a cultural dance show where the Kandyan dancers and drummers will captivate your ears and eyes with spectacular displays of local culture and art. Covering various aspects of Sri Lanka’s traditions, expect to see drummers, fire dancers, and more in a cultural spectacle that shouldn’t be missed.

  • Day 6

    Train Journey

    Hotel: 4* Ceylon Tea Trails, Sri Lanka All Inclusive

    After breakfast take the train ride to Hatton. Get on board the Vintage local train which is how the British used to travel during the Colonial times in the late 1800s. You will have reserved seats for you and witness the beautiful ride along forests, villages, waterfalls and tea estates and the train journeys to the sleepy town amidst the hills.

  • Day 7

    Yala National Park

    Hotel: 4* Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Sri Lanka All Inclusive

    After breakfast drive to Yala. Lunch at Jetwing Kaduruketha.

    Take a jeep ride in the Yala national park in search of the elusive leopards, sloth bears, wild elephants, wild boar, Sambur deer, spotted deer, water buffalo and many bird species. The park is one of the best places in the world to see leopards. Early morning and late in the afternoon are the best times to settle in for some leopard and bear sightings.

  • Day 8


    Hotel: 5* Cape Weligama, Weligama Bed & Breakfast

    After the morning game drive proceed to Weligama and enjoy lunch en route.

    Explore the UNESCO Galle Fort walking around this magical enclosed living heritage city witnessing the hidden gems and learning about the lifestyles of the people. This will be a real hands-on experience where you will get a real idea about how the Portuguese, Dutch and the British have left their mark on Sri Lanka and how their descendants are living inside the Dutch Fort.

    End of Trip
