At Planet we know that having kids doesn’t have to mean the end of your kitesurf holidays! You can take the family with you and speaking from experience it can end up being one of the best kitesurf holidays you’ve ever had. We thought we’d lay out some clear plus points of taking the family along too!
1. Kit Sharing
Just because you are adding numbers to your family doesn’t necessarily mean adding equipment to your quiver. The likelihood is that your family will be all different shapes and sizes as they grow up meaning that the smaller folks can be on your small gear in the same wind strengths as you’d require your bigger equipment.
You’ll be able to take it in turns to capture each others’ thrills and spills on the water, meaning that your family memories soon become family photo albums and videos!
Tired of endless time spent in front of digital boxes of some shape or form? Break free from the monotony of repeat TV shows, computer games and tablet browsing through the pursuit of your passion; Kitesurfing. Your family will see the benefits from the outdoor lifestyle almost immediately, the fresh air, exercise and mental stimulation is the best way to guarantee a restful nights sleep to do it all over again the next day!
Kitesurfing is a great hobby which can be enjoyed both in the UK and abroad and can lead to other sports such as SUPing, surfing and windsurfing, we believe that families who Surf together stay together, which is why the team take every opportunity to go on wind-seeking adventures with their loved ones and have built up a deep understanding of what makes a destination perfect for you and your family!
So where are the best destinations?
Well we’d have to say that possibly the best all round kitesurf family holiday destination has to be Mauritius. The mix of spots for all levels (flat water lagoons, small waves and big waves), incredible accommodation (The St Regis is one of the best hotels we offer), a multitude of tours & activities and the climate make it hard to beat. Le Morne is the place to go. Due to the direction of the wind and the angle of the beach your partner and kids can even sit out of the wind and watch the action whilst its blowing 25 knots around the corner.
