No PCR test required

Within the last week, the Maldives Ministry of Tourism has announced travelers to Maldives who have completed two doses of Covid-19 vaccination (recognized by WHO) at least two weeks before travel are now exempt from the pre-arrival negative PCR test requirement and do not have to quarantine on arrival in the Indian Ocean destination.

Vaccinations on arrival in The Maldives

The Maldives will begin offering vaccinations to travellers on arrival in the island nation. The Maldives Minster of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom explained: “The planned initiative of Covid vaccination to tourists, Visit, Vaccinate, Vacation program, will be rolled out once the resident population of Maldives has first been offered the opportunity to be vaccinated. We hope to offer vaccinations to tourists arriving in the Maldives from the third quarter onward this year. 3V program is offered in appreciation of the trust and confidence tourists have in Maldives tourism. We aim to provide the safest environment possible for tourists, employees, and the public with the minimum inconvenience whilst we continue tourism in this new normal.”
