The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada has broken the Guinness World Record!

The weather was suitably English with rain and grey skies throughout the day but this didn’t stop the proceedings and the record was broken! The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of kitesurfers. A total of 423 wind riders set sail in the cold waters of Hayling Island and finished a one-mile course required to break the record.

Light winds of 15 and 18 knots made it even more challenging and it took three-and-a-half hours to complete.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has come down and supported the festival this weekend. It’s been an amazing experience. 423 kitesurfers is a fantastic total, and everyone should be really proud. It’s been an awesome weekend,” noted Dan Charlish, director of the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada.

Congratulations to everyone involved, you did the kitesurfing community proud!
