The wind blows constantly throughout the whole year. More than 320 days with more than 12 knots make Dakhla a pure pleasure. The main wind direction is north-easterly, so the wind blows side-shore from the right. Thanks to this, the water inside the lagoon is flat close to the beach and gets a little bit choppier the farther you are away from the shore. At the wave spots on the other side of the peninsula, the wind blows slightly side-onshore and is normally a few knots weaker than inside the lagoon.

The 300m² kitesurf centre in Dakhla includes a shop, a nice chill-out corner and plenty of equipment. It is located right next to the Lagon Energy restaurant, with an amazing view over the whole lagoon. From the centre, it is only a few steps to the water. The terrace of the centre is protected from the wind so that families and partners who don´t sail can comfortably stay on the beach and watch the action on the water from there. Showers, toilets and changing rooms can also be found in the centre.

The team here also offer amazing downwinders to the White Dune, for those who can safely kite (level 3) and like an adventure! These trip last approximately three hours and are led by two instructors (one as a guide at the front of the group and one at the end) plus one rescue boat.

Kitefoil rental and private or semi private lessons are offered in Dakhla.

Dakhla offers some of the most perfect conditions for children from around 11 years upwards to learn and improve their kiting. Flat water and lighter winds in the early morning and later in the afternoon makes it easy for them to practice. The combination of great conditions, special equipment and experienced friendly instructors ensures both fun and success. They get the feeling of this amazing sport. The groups are very small so we can ensure safety and fun.
