Tulum is just 2 hours South of Cancun, best known for its 'cool beach and party scene'. However, the South end of the Tulum stretch, away from the beach bars and all-day music, is a tranquil paradise, home to some truly stunning beachfront properties. Many hotels are adult-only, but you can still take a family here in the right location. Due to the very high demand for rooms here in the high season, prices can be quite high when compared to other parts of Mexico, but it is very important to get the correct property in the correct location.
Kitesurfing in Tulum is not ideal for beginners, as the mostly onshore wind often creates quite wavey conditions. We recommend Tulum for independent kitesurfers, or at least those who do not mind some small waves.
