Kenya is one of the richest holiday’s destinations: colourful tribal culture, beaches and coral reefs, mountains and deserts, and some of Africa’s best wildlife attractions. During your windsurf holiday to Kenya you can explore the mosques at Mombasa; the coffee plantations at Thika; the renowned scenery of the Great Rift Valley; a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, across the border into Tanzania; and its beaches along the Indian Ocean. There are plenty of reasons for travel there. Kenya offers a great holiday destination for the watersport enthusiast as you can snorkel, dive, Kitesurf and Windsurf in most of the Kenya resorts. Kitesurfing holidays in Kenya are mostly focused around Diani Beach and Nyali Beach. Generally there is not a huge amount of kitesurfing equipment in these resorts and the equipment tends to be a mixture of new and older gear. A kitesurfing holiday to Kenya is best considered as part of a tailor made tour to combine wildlife safaris, trekking and beach holiday. Planet kitesurf Holidays have many years experience in East Africa arranging luxury tailor made tours.

Watamu is a small village on the Northern Kenyan coast, around a 3-hour transfer from Mombasa Airport (or just 30 minutes from Malidi airport). The area is absolutely stunning with pristine white-sand beaches and reef-protected lagoons; Watamu was voted one of the top ten beaches in the world!

The shoreline in the area features offshore coral formations arranged in three bays: Watamu Bay, Blue Lagoon and Turtle Bay. They are protected as part of the Watamu Marine National Park. The area provides a perfect spot to learn kitesurfing or for flat water freestyle.
