Kitesurfing Holidays In The Algarve
Lagos is the heart of the West Algarve and beautifully retains its small town charm. Ideally situated, just under an hour from Faro airport, Lagos is also the terminal of the Algarve railway. Lagos has its own modern marina, beach cafes, golf courses and within its ancient walls lies a network of bars, restaurants, year round entertainment and a bustling nightlife to suit everyone.
Lagos may be the hub of many of our activities on offer but the unspoilt natural park which follows the south coast to Sagres (the end of the world) all the way up along the dramatic west coast, hosts a multitude of scenic dirt tracks, quaint villages, secluded beaches and inspiring cliffs, all worth a visit if you're not already staying there.
The Algarve offers something for everyone. With a long list of activities available through our centres available from April - October, a wide range of accommodation, from 3* apartments to luxurious 5* beachfront hotels, and nearby towns offering a great atmosphere both night and day!

Kitesurfing Spots In The Algarve.
There are three main kitesurfing spots in the Algarve, our partner kite school operates in all three.
Meia Praia
Meia Praia in the Algarve is a 2km long sandy beach, which offers the full list of activities along with a safe learning zone. After the initial land lessons flying a kite, students are often brought here as there are no rocks or waves. The wind is offshore here, though the centre has safety boat cover for all their clients.
The 4* Vila Gala, 5* Yellow Hotel, and 3* Dom Pedro Apartments are all within a very short walking distance of the centre.
The Lagoon
The clear blue lagoon is the best beginner and improver kite spot in the Algarve, with perfectly flat and shallow water, absolutely ideal for teaching. Many kite schools bring students here, though our partner kite centre is the only one licensed to do so. Only kitesurfers are allowed on the lagoon, ensuring minimal water traffic.
There is no accommodation at the lagoon, our partner kitesurf centre in the Algarve provides boat transport here for their students.
Wave spots
The waves in Portugal are found on the west coast, where the wind is more side shore. Our partner kitesurf centre will rent equipment for you to take it to your own spot, though the insurance will not be valid. They can also provide transport to the waves for a fee. If you would like to travel to the wave spots at points in your kitesurf holiday in the Algarve, we recommend staying at the Martinhal, as it is much closer to the west coast.
Activities In The Algarve.
