Kitesurf Holidays To Barbados

A kitesurf holiday to the island of Barbados is a great location for intermediate to advanced kitesurfers travelling with their partner or family. The Silver Sands beach area, on the easern coast, is the main kitesurfing zone in Barbados. This spot has stunning beaches and waves, but due to the large waves and shore break it is not recommended for beginners.

Planet Kitesurf offers a kitesurfing holiday right on the main beach in a luxury resort, or in a very large and beautifully appointed apartment nearby.

It is a good idea to take your own kitesurf equipment to this location as what is available can be very limited.

See What Our Clients Say

Great kitesurfing holiday, great hotels and pretty good value for money. Stuart at Planet Kitesurf knew the country well and was really helpful. The kitesurfing area is very up and coming so he accommodated the research that I did. The hotels were all of a really high standard, the only slight disappointment was that our last hotel room was not one with a balcony and the amazing view was obscured by a bush! The kitesurf centre is in the perfect spot, possibly one of the best in the world that I have been to.

The Wind And Weather On Barbados

The wind varies between a constant cross-offshore or cross-onshore trade wind, which usually levels off between 12 and 20 knots. The best wind period is between December and March. Silversands is one of the best wave spots.

There are an abundance of jet ski companies, dive schools and paragliding businesses on the island. A variety of resorts also offer banana boat rides and general watersports. Barbados is a small island, therefore, renting a car is advisable. In fact, you can drive from one end of the island to the other in 1 hr 30 minutes. Driving your hire car is an excellent way to see all the islands attractions, such as the monkey sanctuary in the north, and all its beautiful beaches and surf breaks

Nightlife On Barbados

Barbados has a great nightlife with a true Caribbean feel. The fish BBQ at Oistins is exceptionally good. Here you will be treated to the freshest fish cooked to order in front of you, accompanied by local foods, such as breadfruit, plantains, and a wedge of delicious macaroni pie.

St Lawrence Gap (The Gap) has a variety of bars and restaurants hosting local live music. Just look out for the posters that spring up around town with the place and date.
