Shambani Cottages In Diani

Shambani Cottages are what holidays dreams are made of! A collection of three cottages and two villas in private grounds on the edge of Diani resort, these traditionally made properties will give you a true African experience. Although not located on the beach they have beautiful tropical gardens with five bicentenary baobabs and a lovely pool area. The beach is just across the road but it is safer to go down to the centre at Nomads for kitesurfing. This is a real favourite with Planet staff!
 

The Shambani houses are completely equipped. The kitchen is provided with a refrigerator, oven and toaster. The bedrooms are equipped with linen and towels. The beds are protected with wide mosquito-nets and each room is equipped with a ventilator.
 
Simba Cottage, Mamba Cottage, Twiga Cottage and Kidigo Cottage are all roofed in makuti, but they are of different sizes in order to satisfy various requirements.
 
Flamboyant villa and Baobab villa follow this construction style in which the roofs are replaced by big terraces used to collect water during the rainy season and the windows are placed in the direction of the Nord East monsoon to get the benefit from the sea-breezes in the hotter seasons.
 

If you wish to enjoy your holiday more, along with the sea produce which is brought to the beach each morning by the fishermen, we suggest you ask for a cook, available at a little extra-charge.
