The Watamu Kitesurf Centre is a world-class watersports facility internationally renowned for being one of the world’s leading training providers. Specialising in Kitesurfing, Stand Up Paddleboarding and also arranging Deep Sea Fishing, Snorkelling and Scuba Diving, the centre can cater for all your needs whether it be tuition, rental or advice. The centre provides courses that cater to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced riders. The highly experienced kitesurfing instructors have taught well in excess of 1,000 people to kitesurf worldwide. The head of training was one of the first kitesurfers in Kenya and grew up learning to kitesurf in Watamu, giving him a wealth of knowledge on the local conditions, locations to learn, and secret spots to ride.

All the lessons and rentals are carried out with the latest Slingshot kitesurfing equipment. The array of kites ranges from their fantastic beginner/intermediate Z Kite in all sizes to the Rally, SST wave style and the RPM. The centre also offers Kenya’s first hydrofoil training school. Having the ability to get out on the water in very light winds really opens up the Kenya coast and Watamu in particular to an almost all year-round season. Although Watamu gets a solid 9 months of wind a year, in the months in between the season there are still light breezes almost daily. Mastering the skills of the hydrofoil will truly keep you off the beach and on the water. Gone are the days of waiting for wind.

The centre also offers rescue and safety support for all customers. On top of this, they also have secure equipment storage facilities for those clients who don’t want to store their equipment in the hotel room or house. Your kit will also be dried and cleaned on a daily basis when stored with the centre.
