Why we rate this centre

Watamu, Kenya, offers amazing views, clear water and wind every day. Learning to kitesurf has never ever been so easy and peaceful. The centre here offers kitesurfing lessons for all levels, from beginner to freestyle with a maximum of 2 students per teacher. This is a duotone pro centre with all new equipment. From this centre you can also rent full equipment (kite, board, bar and harness) with the possibility to switch it depending on the wind strength. You can also rent a surf/strapless board to go surf in the reef with 2 metre high waves! Safe storage is also available at the school and showers and clean water are available to clean your self and your gear, with a dedicated drying area. The staff will be always waiting for you at the beach helping you with pumping your kite, launching and landing it, and they’ll keep an eye on you while you riding to make you always feel safe.

The centre is located on a shallow and flat lagoon with small sand islands. The differents tides make the spot perfect for all the different kite styles:
– in low tide it is perfect to learn freestyle
– in high tide you will have deep water and a perfect wave that you can ride in the reef

The winter sseason runs from December till March, blowing left side-on direction with a wind average of 17/19 knots, while the summer season runs from July till September, blowing right side-on direction with an average speed of 20/22 knots.
