Overview

From the towers to the cellars, between the halls and gardens, you can breathe the history of Villa Favorita . A story that began more than 150 years ago, in a year that will remain forever imprinted in what is an even greater story, that of our country.

It is 1860 , the year in which General Giuseppe Garibaldi , in command of the Thousand, accomplished the enterprise of the Unification of Italy , an enterprise which began precisely in Marsala .At that time, Salvatore Amodeo was a young Garibaldian entrepreneur in the wine sector. Marsala, in that part of the century, was, like today, a very important district for the production of quality wines, starting with Marsala, the wine that bears the name of the city and which made Garibaldi himself fall in love with it.

A courageous and open-minded entrepreneur, Salvatore Amodeo built a unique winery of its kind, never seen before: a baglio, one of the classic structures typical of the Marsala hinterland, surrounded by mighty walls and turrets. Inside, however, he wanted to create a refined architecture with Art Nouveau interiors and a wonderful, secret garden.

This is Villa Favorita today: a majestic location, a stone's throw from the historic center of Marsala , facing the Stagnone lagoon and the Egadi islands. Over 30,000 square meters of great charm , which has remained intact over time thanks to constant and scrupulous conservation work.
