There is a nice marina area, making a home for some very luxury vessels, with a hand full of cafes and restaurants overlooking the water. El Gouna is a great location for families, or single traveller, as the town boasts excellent services, a superb infrastructure, year-round sunshine and stunning beaches. The nearby Hurghada International Airport has a wide number of flights to Europe in both directions.

Kitesurfing In El Gouna
El Gouna is extremely popular with kitesurfers, especially beginners and improvers, from June to October. Outside of these months it is better to head further south for better wind in our experience. It is also worth noting that many of the kitesurf lagoons in El Gouna are tidal, meaning that at low tides it is only possible to kitesurf further our in deeper water which is not good for beginners. Again, the resorts further South (such as Soma Bay or Hurghada), do not have this tidal issue.
There is a huge number of very impressive kitesurf schools in El Gouna, especially at the Northern end of the resort where the huge open beach stretches out for some kms.
