Tour Highlights

This is a superb way to enjoy both North Sardinia with the West Coast of Sicily. Both spots are offering great options for all levels of Windsurfer, Kitesurfer and Wingfoiler.  With Car hire included we have also included a 3 night stop in Marsala, filled with great restaurants and espresso culture. ALL elements are interchangeable subject to availability - so pick your own order and durations in each destination.

Days 1 - 5

5* Valle dell Erica Thalasso and Spa Resort

Half Board

After picking up your car rental from either Olbia or Algerho airport, take the 1 hour drive north to the stunning Valle dell'Erica Resort - putting you within 20mins easy drive of the Porto Pollo Pro Centre for Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Wing Foiling

Prepare for a 5 night stay with Half Board included.

Northern Sardinia

Sardinia is one of the most stunning islands in the Mediterranean. A hidden gem! For kitesurfers and non-kitesurfers alike you will find something here for everyone. With white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters as beautiful as the Caribbean, and only a short two hour flight away from the UK.

The kitesurfing beach at Porto Pollo is a small spot in a bay on the north coast of Sardinia, a short drive from the local harbour town of Pulau and around 40 minutes from Olbia airport. It is essential to have a car in Sardinia so all Planet Kitesurf Holidays come with pre-arranged car rental as part of your holiday arrangements.

As with all of our kitesurfing resorts we have spent considerable time and effort inspecting the resort, testing the conditions and ensuring we offer only the very best available accommodation and kitesurf centre services in this region. If you are considering a kitesurfing holiday to Sardinia then please call and speak to one of our expert kitesurf travel specialists so we can guide you to the right flights, hotel and kitesurf instruction, rental and safety cover services.

If you are travelling to Sardinia between June and August please book early as there is very limited accommodation options and they tend to be fully booked quickly in peak season.

Days 5 - 8

3* Carmine Hotel

Bed and Breakfast

After dropping your car off at Alghero and taking the short flight to Palermo (not included but can be added) - you will then pick up your car and drive the 1h and 20 mins to stunning city of Marsala. Here you will stay at the well located Hotel Carmine for 3 nights on a Bed and Breakfast basis.  Marsala is a perfect walking city with cafes and restaurants as well as amazing architecture and history. Recharge your batteries before heading the Stagnone Lagoon for your final 6 days.

Marsala

Marsala is a lovely town on the western coast of Sicily, known for its wine, beautiful views, and peaceful atmosphere. Marsala offers a relaxing and authentic Sicilian experience, with good wine, friendly people, and lovely views. It’s ideal for travellers who enjoy a slower pace and want to explore the quieter side of Sicily. It is smaller and quieter than Palermo, but full of charm, especially for those who enjoy history, good food, and a slower pace.

The most famous thing about Marsala is its Marsala wine, a sweet fortified wine that has been made here for centuries. You can visit local wineries, such as Florio or Pellegrino, to learn how the wine is made and enjoy a tasting. It's a fun and relaxing experience, especially for adults who enjoy trying local drinks.

One of the main sights in the town itself is the historic centre, with its elegant buildings, narrow streets, and pretty squares. The Cathedral of Marsala, also called St. Thomas of Canterbury Cathedral, stands in the main square and is a nice place to visit. Not far from there, you can also explore the Archaeological Museum of Baglio Anselmi, which holds the remains of a real ancient Phoenician ship – one of the few you can see in the world.

The best time to visit Marsala is in the spring (April to June) or autumn (September to early November), when the weather is warm and pleasant but not too hot. These seasons are perfect for walking around the town, visiting wineries, and enjoying the countryside. Summer, especially July and August, can be very hot and a bit too dry for long walks, although the beaches nearby are nice for swimming. Winter is cooler and quieter, and while you may find some rain, it’s still milder than in most places in northern Europe.

Days 8 - 14

5* Baglio Oneto Wine resort

Bed and Breakfast

For the final 6 days of your trip head 20 mins north to Lo Stagnone Lagoon - perfect for Kiting and Wing Foiling (at the deeper spots), there is also the possibility for beginner and intermediate Windsurfing too.

10 minutes inland is the beautiful Baglio Oneto Wine Resort, with stunning views over the lagoon - here you will stay for 6 nights in a Deluxe Double room with Breakfast included

Lo Stagnone Sicily

The largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily offers warm weather and a kitesurfing season that extends virtually all year. This relatively undiscovered kitesurfing destination offers flat, shallow waters - perfect for beginners and one of the safest places to learn to kitesurf!

The nature reserve of Stagnone is the largest lagoon in Sicily, extending between the areas of Marsala and Trapani. The picturesque lagoon is home to a number of small islands and is famous for its salt pans and windmills.

While a number of great bakeries, supermarkets and bars can be found close to the kitesurfing spot at Lo Stagnone, we will also arrange a private car rental for your holiday so that you can really explore the beauty of Sicily. Planet Kitesurf is the exclusive UK agents for a professional the kitesurf centre with an onsite hotel located on the western tip of Sicily, surrounded by kilometres of beautiful coastline and ancient cities, rich in historical and archaeological sites. The area of Marsala is linked to marsala wine and a few days spent in this stunning city will complete your Sicilian getaway.
