Vayu Kitecamp Overview
Vayu Kitecamp is located at the beginning of Adam’s Bridge on the Mannar peninsula. You will not get a better location than this for kitesurfing. The sandy beaches and lagoons provide excellent riding conditions for advanced, intermediate and novice Kitesurfers. There is a perfect flat water spot and wave spot just in front of the camp!
The kitecamp consists of 12 bungalows, 8 deluxe tents, a dining area, a bar and many areas to chill and relax. All meals are included in the price as well as tea and coffee around the clock. The sunsets, as well as the starry nights, are stunning. The Vayu camp also offers Yoga, Massage, SUP, Kayaks and nature-based excursions.
This is a rustic location with lots of care and attention to detail.
Accommodation
A lot of care and attention has gone into the construction of the kitecamp. From every plant to the placement of each stone, you will experience a love for design and art. There are only 12 bungalows and 8 tents – so the camp will always be pretty exclusive. Each wooden bungalow has been elevated to give you a nice view of the ocean and clearance from the sand that can fly due to high winds. 2 to 4-bed options make the bungalows suitable for groups of friends and families. The open-air washroom gives you a novel experience: shower under the stars! A verandah has been included for you to relax in privacy. All bungalows are stand-alone and have mosquito nets. Each bungalow is a short walk from the Adam’s Bridge and surrounded by nature.
Dining
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as purified water, coffee and tea is all included in the cost of your stay. You will discover a wide variety of local and international cuisine. All the vegetables and fruit are freshly picked in Mannar area and seafood is brought daily by the local fisherman. All-day round, enjoy the free tea, coffee and water bar!

At Mannar kitecamp you can rent a motorcycle or a scooter on a daily basis, to explore the Island. It’s a unique experience. Self-driving is the best idea to explore Sri Lanka. Rent a motorbike or a scooter with your friends, your family or your partner. Go for a little trip and visit the town, where you can go shopping. Explore the surroundings and enjoy the view of the mangrove and the beach, both hosting a lot of different bird species.
Cultural excursions and national park visit
Sri Lanka is a great cultural and historical country. Discover the history of the island during a journey to Kandy or visit a National Park to see elephant, leopard, birds and other wildlife.
Village Cycle Tour
Self-guided bicycle tour. Free of charge for Vayu guests.
Visit to the Donkey Rescue Center
Guided tour at an additional charge. Feed and pet the donkeys.
Creativity Workshops
Give freedom to your creativity and create bracelets, necklaces, ankle laces and silver, coral or shell jewellery. The team will teach and assist you to finish your creations. Prices are dependant on materials chosen.

Your money goes into trust
Not into our bank account. It sits with an independent trustee and is only released after you have travelled. If we stopped trading tomorrow it would still be there, and it would come back to you.

Flights, transfers, the room you actually chose, your lessons. Confirmed before you fly, not arranged when you land. We don’t book the cheapest transfer — drivers who turn up and speak English.
