On 190 m² you find enough wind- and kitesurf equipment, a small shop with the latest fashion and accessories and even an extra kite-repair room. Moreover we now offer our guests 13 new and spacey storage boxes. Two terraces, one with a 20 m long swimming pool and a restaurant, invite to relax and sunbath and have a very special ambience. The centre is located 75 meters from the water. Who doesn’t want to walk that far, can stay in our “Barraca”, a small hut/beach bar, very close to the water, where snacks and cool drinks are served.

THE SPOT

With a wind rate of 99% between middle of June until December, Preá is one of the windiest windsurfing and kite-surfing spots worldwide. The wide, sandy beach of Preá is 15 km long and offers not only more than enough space for wind- and kitesurfers but also the perfect launching area right in front of the centre. Although the average wind speed is around 6 bft, the spot is also suited for kitesurf beginners. As we offer in Preá only semi-private or private kite-surfing lessons, a fast progress is guaranteed. Windsurf rental is possible from level water start onwards, however, the spot is not suited for windsurf beginners as the water is very choppy. Low tide provides dream-conditions for kite- and windsurfers and also high tide makes the time one the water pure fun: it creates waves which are perfect for jumping.

WIND AND WAVES

The wind blows side-shore from the right with an average wind speed of around 6 bft. – almost every single day. In the early mornings the wind often comes offshore but around 11:00am it turns to side-shore from the right. There is a big difference between high and low tide: with low tide you get flat water conditions, with high tide you face more challenging choppy waves.

Kitesurfing Lessons with a personal instructor gives you the opportunity to have a 1-on-1 interaction with your instructor to help you learn at a pace that is driven by you. The Learn To Kitesurf course aims to get you riding, while also teaching you how to read the conditions and utilise your equipment safely and correctly.

You will start with the basics; this includes setup of your equipment, safety features that you will utilise and how to fly a small 2metre trainer kite. When your instructor feels you are ready you can then head to the water. On day one you will only be using the kite and not go on the board just yet. Entering the water is when the fun starts! Here you will be taught how to properly fly an inflatable kitesurfing kite, how to control your kite and what to do if you crash it in the water. On day one you will be comfortable flying the kite and know what to do in any situation.

You will then move on to the board lessons. What does that mean? Well it is time to get up on the board now. You will practice using the kite to generate pull and you will learn how to get the kite to pull you without the board first. The idea is to get used to how the kite behaves when asked to pull you. Once confident doing this you will learn how to put the board on your feet and after that, how to get up on the board. Most people will manage to do a few metres on the board by the end of the course.

Note:

You don’t need to be super-fit to kitesurf and the kit is lightweight, so you don’t need lots of muscle strength either. But of course, a decent level of fitness will help you to progress faster. Your instructor will be there to support you, coach you, and more importantly, keep you safe through the learning process.

Note:

Semi-private lessons are offered with a maximum of two people and ensure fast progression. Your course includes Kite, board, Harness, wetsuit, life jacket and insurance.

We will schedule your course to start on your first full day, but you must remain available to the school to work around local wind and sea conditions, as well as instructor availability.

Daily kitesurf unlimited rental, with choice of boards and kites, bar included. The range of equipment will vary from each different kitesurf school, so sometimes the exact kite size may not be available. Kitesurf rental packages are great if you want to experiment with different types of equipment before you decide to invest in your own, or if you just don't want toe hassle of taking your own equipment.

The quality of kitesurf rental equipment will vary from each different sport centre. Take a look at the sport centre details for more information on this. if you are not sure then you can always call us. We only work with the best kitesurf centres in each resort and do our best to visit every centre we offer.

Note:

You must be able to demonstrate safe setup and use of the equipment, and be able to ride upwind (most of the time). If the centre feels that you are not yet ready to kite independently they may swap out some of the rental value for instruction.

Damage Insurance is not included and should be paid locally

For Kitesurf rental of equipment, you may be required to produce a VDWS/IKO/RYA or equivalent licence to prove your ability to rent (For Egypt this is mandatory, and if unable to provide you will need to do a skills test and pay for a licence locally)
