LUX* Grand Gaube Resort & Villas is a laid-back yet stylish beachfront retreat located on a quiet peninsula on the north coast of Mauritius. Surrounded by two calm lagoons and backed by lush gardens, the resort is perfect for couples, families and groups seeking tropical charm with a modern twist. Designed by Kelly Hoppen, the interiors blend natural textures, soft tones and retro-chic details, creating a relaxed but elegant atmosphere. Highlights include two sandy beaches, two large swimming pools including one adults-only, six restaurants, a wellness spa, a wide range of water and land activities, a kids’ club, tennis courts and luxurious villas with private pools and full butler service.
The Superior Rooms are 51 square metres and come with a king-size bed, indoor seating, a furnished terrace or balcony, and a bathroom with rainfall shower and twin sinks. They are suitable for up to three adults or two adults with a child or teen. The Wellness Junior Suites are the same size but located in a quieter area of the resort and come with wellness extras like a yoga mat and a peaceful setting, sleeping two adults.
Junior Suites are 56 square metres and offer direct beach access, a private terrace, a garden bathroom with standalone bathtub, and a walk-in dressing area. They sleep up to three adults or two adults and one child or teen.
The Ocean Junior Suites are larger at 70 square metres, with sea views, an outdoor bath on a private terrace, and a generous living and dressing area. These are ideal for couples or small families.
Prestige Junior Suites are 75 square metres and located in the adults-only section of the resort. They include an outdoor whirlpool bath, a large sunbed terrace, a dining nook, and views over a quiet bay. These suites sleep two adults and one teen aged 16 or older.
Family Suites offer 85 square metres of space with two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a shared lounge. Perfect for two adults and two children or similar combinations, these suites come with added family amenities and plenty of room to spread out. LUX* Suites are also 85 square metres but offer a more refined layout with two bedrooms, a spacious lounge, and a large terrace. They sleep three adults or small families wanting more space and privacy.
Ocean Villas are 100 square metres with two bedrooms, a private pool, a sun deck, a tropical garden, an outdoor shower, and a full living and dining area. These villas sleep up to four adults and one or two children and include 24-hour butler service.
The LUX* Villa is the largest at 300 square metres, set on its own private peninsula with a beachfront location. It includes two bedrooms, a private pool, a gazebo, open-air bath, separate living and dining areas, a kitchen, and full butler service. It sleeps up to six guests in total privacy and comfort.
All rooms and suites are equipped with air conditioning, smart TVs, Wi-Fi, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, blackout curtains, a pillow menu and LUX* signature bath products. Décor is light, airy and relaxed, with tropical accents throughout.
The resort features two main pools: one large family-friendly pool near the beach and an adults-only pool in the Banyan area. Both pools are surrounded by loungers and shady spots. The beaches are quiet and gently sloping, with calm, swimmable water that’s ideal for snorkelling, paddleboarding or just floating. Towel service and beach drinks are available throughout the day.
Dining at LUX* Grand Gaube is a real highlight. The Palm Court is the main restaurant with open kitchens and a variety of cuisines served buffet-style. INTI is a lively Peruvian restaurant offering ceviches, grilled meats and a pisco bar. Bodrum Blue serves Turkish dishes on a pier-style setting with sea views. Beach Rouge is a Mediterranean-inspired beach club with casual seating and live music. The Banyan area is home to a Creole smokehouse, rum shack and burger bar set beneath a giant banyan tree. Café LUX* offers barista coffee and pastries, and the ICI ice cream stand makes handmade flavours to order. There are also several bars dotted around the resort for cocktails, mocktails and juices.
The LUX* Me Spa is a tranquil sanctuary with 12 treatment rooms, outdoor therapy areas, hydrotherapy pools, sauna, hammam, steam room, plunge pools and a tea bar. Treatments include massages, facials, body scrubs and signature wellness experiences. The spa also houses a full beauty salon, barber shop and nail bar. A large fitness centre offers modern equipment, personal training, yoga classes and wellness programmes including meditation and Pilates.
Activities at the resort are plentiful. Guests can enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, glass-bottom boat rides, sailing and snorkelling—all included. For a fee, there are diving trips, catamaran cruises, water skiing and deep-sea fishing. On land, there are four tennis courts, a padel tennis court, beach volleyball, bocce, table tennis, croquet and group fitness sessions.
Children are well looked after at the PLAY kids’ club for ages 3 to 11, which offers games, crafts, nature walks, cooking classes and treasure hunts. For older children and teens aged 12 to 17, there are sports, beach activities, movie nights and more. Babysitting is also available for younger children.
Other services at the resort include 24-hour room service, boutique shops, concierge assistance, car rental, laundry service, and daily entertainment in the form of live music, DJ sets, beach movies or Mauritian cooking demos.
